The current event that the participants and media are calling "Occupy Wall Street" is nothing but a movement of anarchy. The OWS participants are not displaying the proper respect for laws or law enforcement officers, nor businesses and private property, and especially not for the citizens who share the areas and/or cities that they are "occupying". When asked what are their reasons for protesting all they can say is "capitalism is evil"; greedy corporations must be stopped";"rich people ,who make $200,000 a year, should be taxed at a 75% or higher(tell that to the average Californian, New Yorker, or Floridian); "anyone who owns their own business is a greedy capitalist", etc...Those are the "articulate" statements. Yeah, it's not looking good for their cause, except that they are allegedly being supported by money coming in from China, Russia, and who knows...maybe the Middle East. Oh, and maybe some unions and Mr. Souros.
There is an apparent lack of knowledge on the subjects that the OWS protesters choose to speak out on. They don't have the evidence or facts with which to back up their complaints and accusations!! Their mantra's are outright socialism and not the ideals on which the United States of America was founded and with which it has continued to prosper into the greatest nation on this earth. People emigrate to America(often fleeing TRUE oppression and tyranny)to become a part of and thrive on the capitalist/democratic system we have in place...a system that provides the opportunity for those who are not afraid of hard work, and have the patience and perseverance to create the life of which they've dreamed. And yes, some will fail, but they also have the opportunity to pick themselves up and try again!!
I was at a political party meeting, just today, and was sitting with a group of ladies in their 70's and boy did they have a lot to say about the OWS protesters. One, a legal immigrant from Mexico, talked about the alleged "homelessness" and "joblessness" of the crowd. She, like myself and many others, know of many jobs opportunities that exist, but are apparently not the job that these protesters desire. When i was laid off from a job, when i was younger, i went directly to 3 different temp agencies to be interviewed, fill out resumes, and be tested on different office equipment. I received a call for my first temporary position the very next day. After working at a few very different companies and offices, i was hired by one of them for a full-time position. Was the job i was offered my desired employment opportunity...no, but i needed to work to pay bills, so i took the job and prospered within the company for which i was working.
Our current government's standing in the world, is precarious at best. Our governmental system was not set up to support us and take care of us...that is our job! We need to take pride in who we are and what we can do! I was privileged to be addressed by Rep. Duncan Hunter, Jr.(R) today, and his "mantra" was we need to bring back "Made in America"!!! We need to woo back our American Corporations, that are conducting business in "tax-free" countries, with no taxes, if even for a determined period of time. It is better that we do not tax them and employ more people, which will stimulate the economy without the "necessary" corporate taxation.
Please God, let the protesters "get wise" to whom they should really be directing their protests, i.e,; Obama, Congress, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the crony capitalism that is the true target of their discontent!!!
